Greyfriars Church

The temporary works at Greyfriars Church are now complete. They will enable the lower section of the existing rear wall, which is 1.1m thick, to be removed and the permanent structural works to be installed.  Particular care was taken to minimise deflections due to the presence of large stone mullions and stained glass windows all requiring temporary support.  The steelwork was required to cantilever due to the presence of an underfloor heating system with screed over within the Church Hall, all of which was unable to support the temporary loads that would have be applied if needled conventionally.
