Working to a vision by BDP Architects, Tonbridge School have developed the existing Smythe Library building originally designed by Sir William Holford. A new glass stair tower with a structure of repeating light hollow section posts joins the four floors that were previously given over to separate uses. This has also allowed a new main entrance in a similar style, at ground floor facing the quad, rather than the previous first floor access.
