Crystal Palace Subway

10 August 2020 | Sectors | Civil Featured

After being delayed by the Covid-19 lockdown, we have now been allowed to visit the site to commence work on this prestigious project.

Bromley Council is looking to undertake remedial work and renovate the Crystal Palace Subway, with the aim of transforming the Grade II* building into a commercially viable cultural events venue.

This subway was built for the Great Exhibition in Crystal Palace Park.  Its function was to enable First Class rail passengers to walk from the former High Level Crystal Palace Station directly into the Exhibition using a sheltered access and it is one of the last remaining structures of the Crystal Palace.

CTP’s Civil Engineers have been appointed through our client, Thomas Ford and Partners, to undertake the drainage design to RIBA Stage 3.
