Millennium Quay River Wall, River Thames
CTP were commissioned from initial feasibility through to construction on this River Thames wall repair project.
The existing timber river wall under the ownership of the Millennium Quay Residents Association was failing and in a state of disrepair. After being temporarily stabilised, the Port of London Authority stipulated it required replacement.
- CTP carried out a site visit and condition survey of the wall.
- Procurement and management of initial site investigation works.
- Liaison with the Environment Agency, Marine Management Organisation and the Port of London Authority to gain necessary permits, river works licences and approvals.
- CTP services included feasibility study, preliminary design, detailed design, tender document preparation, contract drafting, contract administration, project management and principal designer.
- The feasibility study identified a range of options.
- The options were discussed with the Environment Agency and presented to the Millennium Quay residents explaining the problem and potential solutions.
- The detailed design was undertaken for the cantilever sheet piles and reinforced concrete capping beam.
- Construction drawings and specification were prepared.
- The NEC contract was drafted and executed as a deed.
- Contract administration and NEC project management throughout the construction, keeping the stakeholders regularly updated on progress.
- Site inspections of the works to monitor progress.
