CTP were appointed by Bute House School to assist with the creation of additional reading space by partially infilling the existing entrance atrium, whilst preserving the feeling of openness. CTP provided the structural support of two elegant, floating reading pods.

The structural decks supporting the pods were cantilevered from the existing building and seamlessly integrated within the pods’ architectural design. The floating structures not only provide unique, sculptural elements when viewed from below but also allow natural light to flow from the atrium rooflight down to the foyer, enhancing the ambiance of the entire space.

In addition to the reading pods CTP also provided structural engineering design and detailing to the refurbished theatre block and science classrooms.
